To flow in the yoga practice means to mindfully move from one posture to another using the breath. To create a playful yoga practice, well this means to get a bit funky with traditional postures, break away from the ‘normal’ yoga mould, move freely and authentically in your body to simply find what feels good! Sounds yummy, right?
This month at Yogaia we are celebrating ‘playfulness’ on the mat in our 14-day “Play on the Mat” Challenge, encouraging everyone to embrace their inner funk! It’s about listening to what you need rather than what you think you should do. Who said yoga had to be so serious?! This freedom in yoga usually comes with a lot of laughs and is an opportunity to discover something new about your body or your breath. It’s a style of yoga that is perfect to get fully involved in the comfort of your own home. Cats and dogs welcome!
So here’s a little something just to get the juices flowing. The video below shares a little more on the magic of what ‘Funky Flow’ is all about, breaking down four postures and transitions that you can get really sink your yogi toes into. It’s guaranteed to leave you feeling super fly and of course super funky. Enjoy my friends!
Love & light,
